Endangered Species Act (jan 1, 1966 – dec 31, 1973)
Description:
The Endangered Species Act was passed in 1973, which improved on the Endangered Species Conservation Act of 1969, which itself was an improvement over a 1966 act. This was influenced by other environmental issues and the extinction of other species, such as the passenger pigeon. This is significant as it has saved many species from possible extinction, such as the California Condor and others.
