In 2008, an 11 year old Malala Yousafzai gave a speech in her home country of Pakistan, titled "How Dare the Taliban Take Away My Right to Education?" 3 years later, she was shot by the Taliban for her activism. She became a symbol for girls' education, going on to be the youngest-ever winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014.Added to timeline:
