Siege of Charleston (feb 11, 1780 – may 12, 1780)
Description:
-General Sir Henry Clinton commanded a fleet of 104 different ships
-using these ships, the British blockaded the port of Charleston
- 5,500 colonist casualties
- After many attempts of negotiation, the Colonists were forced to surrender.
- The British bombarded the colonist defensive structures from the comfort of their boats
- Any Americans that weren’t killed were taken as POWs.
