First Emojicon is held! (nov 4, 2016 – nov 6, 2016)

Description:

Emoji have become so popular in the short time they've been released that linguists, programmers, and emoji enthusiasts gathered in San Fransisco, CA for the first Emojicon! It was essentially an emoji themed party held over the course of three days. Emojicon offered a variety of activities to take part in over three days, including an Emoji Photobooth, a talk on the linguistics of emojis, how to create an emoji with Unicode, or sing at Emoji Karaoke! This first Emojicon finished off with ~1,000 visitors from all over the US and some international countries, such as Japan, Finland, and Australia (“Emojicon.”).

This year's Emojicon is set for July 14, 2018 at The Bell House in Brooklyn, NY (“Emojicon.”).
