The Neolithic Temple at Göbekli Tepe (jan 1, 9000 BC – jan 1, 8000 BC)
Description:
The first piece of religious architecture that we know of and made of the world's oldest megaliths. This temple also marks the appearance of the first human settlement in the world. However, it's unknown if farming was used or if this site was simply used by hunter-gatherers from surrounding areas.
The architecture contains many depictions of animals in both bas and high relief. The building is made of post-and-lintel stones creating a T formation.
