Antonio Caetani (jan 27, 1395 – jan 1, 1402)

Description:

Coming from the noble family of the Counts of Fondi, who had given Pope Boniface VIII to the Church , Antonio embarked on an ecclesiastical career as a teenager.

Elected Patriarch of Aquileia on 27 January 1395 , he took possession of the seat on the following 12 February, however he continued to reside in Rome. He resigned as patriarch in 1402 .

Among the noteworthy works he carried out as patriarch of Aquileia are the eradication of the brigands in the Karst and the reorganization of the patriarchal archive and chancellery.
