Iran-Contra Scandal: 20 Aug. 1985 - 4 Mar. 1987 During this time, president Reagan was in fear that Iran and the U.S. would result in war. Therefore, he send military aid to the Contras for them to handle the situation. Despite this, his staff secretly continued to give money away to Iran. This illegal act was called the Iran-Contra Scandal, which embarrassed the U.S. (aug 20, 1985 – mar 4, 1987)
