Berlin Airlift/Blockade (jun 24, 1948 – may 12, 1949)
Description:
The Berlin Blockade was a crisis after WWII in which the city of Berlin, that was split in control by many nations, was completely encircled by a Soviet wall on the Democratic part. The Soviets created the wall in order to stop their citizens from entering and defecting to west Berlin. In response to this the allies, who controlled west Berlin, began to air drop all the needed supplies into west Berlin in order to keep that part of the city alive and working.
