The French Revolution started 6 years after the American Revolution ended in 1783. The French Revolution had an extremely large influence on Classical Liberalism, and Liberalism would likely not be what it is today if the French Revolution had not occurred. In pre-revolution France, members of the third estate had little to no rights and freedoms; the French Revolution helped secure them those with the Declaration of Rights of Man and Citizen in 1789.Added to timeline:
