Description:
Patriot Maj Thomas Young and Lt Joseph Hughes while on a scouting mission near Chester SC, learned of a Loyalist band hiding in a dense thickett along the Sandy River. The scouting party rode to the river, located the Loyalist and after a short skirmish defeated the Loyalist recovering a large amount of plunder hidden in the thickett.Added to timeline:
