-insistent on following constitution-price freezes + wage increases to raise living standard of the poor
-nationalisation of copper industry (despite CIA attempts to destablise economy) - very popular
-massive inflation (500%)
-urban workers: strong support (however some thought government was moving too slowly --> some factories + land that government was slow to nationalise were directly taken over by the people, reducing productivity)
-prosperous Chileans fought Popular Unity's changes
