Qutub-ud-Dïn Aybak founded the Mamluk Dynasty in Northern India He died in 1210 and his son-in-law Iltutmish took over and established the sultanate before he died in 1236. The next 4 descendants that were put on the throne were killed, one of them being a woman. (jan 1, 1206 – jan 1, 1290)
