Lee's Raid at Orangeburgh (aug 3, 1781 – aug 6, 1781)
Description:
Patriot Lt Col "Lighthorse" Harry Lee slipped past the British camp at McCord's Ferry crossing the Congree River. He halted 20 British wagons guarded by 300 men in veiw of the British garrison at Orangeburgh. The lead element of the escort fell back but there were still to many men for Lee to take the wagons. Lee's men captured twenty British soldiers.
