Siege of Ninety-Six (may 22, 1781 – jun 18, 1781)
Description:
Patriot Gen Greene's army of 1,600 men layed siege to British fort at Ninety Six. Greene employed the classic trench and artillery siege but unable to force defenders in the star fort to surrender. With the approach of the Btitish of Col Francis Rowdon 2,000 man relief column, Gen Greene to abandon his siege of the fort.
