Siege of Fort Watson (Wright's Bluff) (apr 16, 1781 – apr 23, 1781)
Description:
Brigadier General Francis Marion and his Patriots joined with Continentals under Lt. Col. Henry Lee and laid siege to the fort built atop an old Indian mound on the East bank of the Santee River. A Maham Tower (designed and constructed by Major Hezekiah Maham) was constructed and used successfully for the first time by the Patriots.
