Description:

The Congress of the Confederation became the governing body of the United States of America after the Second Continental Congress. The Confederation operated under slightly different rules and procedures from the first two Continental Congresses. All members of the Second Continental Congress carried over to the Confederation. Congress moved its meeting site successively to Princeton, New Jersey, Annapolis, Maryland, Trenton, New Jersey, and then in January 1785 to Federal Hall, New York City, which remained the seat of government for several years.
