Saliketcher Bridge (mar 19, 1780 – mar 20, 1780)

Description:

Following the defeat of the Patriots on 18 Mar, the British crossed the Saliketcher River on 19 Mar moving several miles to Gibson's Tavern. Mr Gibson had previously been sent to Charles Town by the Patriots for his support of the British. The following day the British began movement but rear guard, New York Volunteers (Loyalist) were attacked by Patriots killing 3 Loyalist. The British continued to march after the skirmish.
