Col Height's Blockhouse (jul 1, 1776 – jul 31, 1776)
Description:
The "Block House" was an Indian trading post prior to the revolutionary war. Maj Frank Ross' Patriot battalion was in route to the Block House when they learned that the Cherokee had killed Col Height, a Whig Indian trader and his young son. His wife and two daughters were abducted, there fate is unknown.Added to timeline:
