Fort Prince (may 1, 1776 – jul 16, 1776)
Description:
After the action at Col McDowell's camp, he pursued the Capt. Dunlap's Loyalist. The Patriots surprised the British near Shiloh Church. Capt. Dunlap unable to organize a stand so withdrew toward Fort Prince. A running fight ensued for several miles until the Loyalist reach Fort Prince. The Patriots took horses, weapons, ammunitions and one prisoner. Capt. Dunlap took one prisoner and upon questioning him learned Col McDowell's 400 men were close at hand, abandoned Fort Prince.Added to timeline:
