Skirmish at Pine Log Bridge on Black Creek (jan 1, 1782 – mar 31, 1782)
Description:
Patriot Capt Alexander McIntosh commanded a Whig militia company in the Black Creek area. His brother was wounded by Tories so McIntosh shot a Tory named Hughes with his pistol but did not kill him. As the story goes, escaping the Tories, McIntosh had his horse jump across Black Creek. It is said at that location Black Creek is 55 feet wide so the story is not confirmed but he escaped none the less.
