Skirmish near the ferry on Black Creek (dec 1, 1781 – feb 1, 1782)
Description:
Patriot militia force of Lt Col Lemuel Benton and Capt Baker of Georgia united against the Tories. The Patriots stopped for breakfast near the ferry on Black Creek when the Tories attacked. The Patriot were initially confused but rallied and forced the Tories to retreat. The Patriots persued the Tories killing several and severely wounding some who could not escape.
