Kellet's Blockhouse (sep 3, 1781 – sep 4, 1781)

Description:

Kellet's blockhouse owned by Joseph Kellet was manned by Patriot militia when attacked by Tories over night. Rumor says the Tories blocked the blockhouse and burned it with all in side but this has not been confirmed. There was a battle with one British officer and many indians killed and buried on Rayburn's Creek just down from the blockhouse.
