Description:
Johnny Depp signed the contract for Rango on 5 December 2008. It is likely he then finished Alice in Wonderland before taking a Christmas and New Year break on his yacht returning to LA for the Golden Globes on 10 January 2009.
The interview with Isla Fisher suggests work had begun by 25 January 2009 and subsequent interviews with Gore Verbinski state he filmed the actors then spent 18 months on the animation. The film premiered on 14 February 2011 with the first trailer appearing on 29 June 2010.
Work is likely to have started on the live action voicing approach applied to Rango over the next 20 days meaning Johnny would conclude his work on 1 February 2009. This would also coincide with Johnny famously being free to make the final casting decision for CHENAULT in The Rum Diary on 4 February 2009.
