Description:
The First Punic War was one of three wars fought between Ancient Carthage and the Roman Republic.
This is significant as for 23 years, the longest continual conflict and the greatest naval war occurred. Rome demonstrated its ability to quickly build and rebuild large fleets after suffering catastrophic disasters. But, victory game Rome initial overseas power in Sicily, giving her a stronger foothold in the Mediterranean.
