Description:
McCarthyism is a political strategy that involves making accusations of subversion or treason against your opponent without evidence. The term was named after Wisconsin Senator Joseph McCarthy who used the strategy during the Second Red scare, when US citizens were terrified of the Soviet Union and their spies.
