Red Power movement (jan 1, 1965 – dec 31, 1975)
Description:
Comprised of the American Indian Movement (AIM) and the National Indian Youth Council (NIYC). Took a fairly militant and civil disobedient approach, a departure from from previous approaches. Promoted the resurrection of Indian pride, action and awareness and also promoted a sense of pan-Indian identity missing in previous generations.
