The French National Assembly (jun 22, 1789 – dec 13, 1791)
Description:
The Third Estate broke away from the Estates General in June 1789 and declared themselves the National Assembly. They created the Declaration of the RIghts of Man, and a new constitution was created in 1791 and a constitutional monarchy was created, allowing the king to retain some power. People were still unhappy with this form of government, however, and they eventually came to create a new constitution and disband the National Assembly.
