Rubens (jul 31, 1595 – mar 7, 1640)
Description:
Peter Paul Rubens was a Flemish Baroque painter whose art was grand, dynamic, and almost brutish. It consisted of extravagantly organized chaos that built into a dramatic turning moment in the scene. His work contained natural movement.
He was very famous and was often sought out by wealthy collectors and sitters. As people began to buy art, it became private and secular.
