French Revolution (mar 20, 1789 – jan 7, 1799)
Description:
The French Revolution was caused by problems with a large population. There were mass food shortages as well as a lack of representation. There were many bloody battles fought throughout the revolution. It brought about the creation of the guillotine and the death of the king, and it set the stage for the Napoleonic era of France. This revolution set the stage for many more to come. Although it did not solve many of France's issues, it was successful in setting a base for European revolutions. Key concept 5.3
