Description:
As the Omicron surge subsided, Springfield-Greene County Health shifted focus to the health issues COVID-19 exacerbated, like substance use, mental illness, diabetes and long COVID. With a statewide endemic disease approach in place, the department, for the first time in two years, began to resume halted operations with a toolkit of new lessons and strategies.COVID-19 will never go away, but the two years of pandemic emergency taught public health entities everywhere how to navigate a global health crisis.
