Silent films: Roundhay Garden Scene is over 2 seconds long and it's believed to be the world's earliest surviving motion-picture film. Although the Amerian film industry has switched to sound films, the silent films were still being produced; however at a heavily reduced rate. (jan 1, 1833 – jan 1, 1929)
