Battle of Cambrai (nov 20, 1917 – dec 6, 1917)
Description:
A British attack at Cambrai, France, marks the first large-scale use of tanks in combat. Attacking with complete surprise, the British tanks ripped through German defenses in-depth and took about 7,500 prisoners. Bad weather got in the way and British infantry reinforcements were not able to capitalize on the breakthrough.
