Early Modern Era (jan 1, 1450 – dec 31, 1749)
Description:
Historians often use 1450 C.E. to mark the beginning of the early modern era in world history due to many notable events. These events include the rise of the Ottoman Empire and the creation of the Gutenberg printing press which created a revolution in learning. Some, however, point to 1500 C.E. as they believe the Columbian Exchange was the turning point. Another group believes 1206 C.E. to be the turning point, due to the lasting effects of the Mongols.
