The Valkas Dynasty (apr 15, 1774 – dec 16, 1921)

Description:

The reign of the Valkas was supported by 1. they claimed decent from the Karmen monarchs of Oipienta and the Velkmen monarchs of the early Velzen civilization (despite not necessarily being related to them other than through a marriage between an old ancient niece). 2. they claimed the throne after overthrowing the Dxítalíx Dynasty.

However, their first argument is actually incorrect. While the family is directly descended from the Karmen Dynasty, they trace their lineage maternally, which does not work with the inheritence laws of the Velxen Empire. The Valkas Dynasty actually traces their ancestry from Grotian and specifically from the small village of Palaqia near Shovia. The name Valkas is an Iopified version of "Palaqas" meaning "From Palaqia". The first mention of Palaqas came from Ieshepa Palaqas who controlled the village and established the Palaqasa Dynasty. The dynasty remained in Palaqia from the 11th Century until the 13th Century where they married into House Dèwenïta and moved to Lejace in the 1240s. There, they climbed the political hierarchy until obtaining the title of Dukes of Ṡviupenta (Later Tha Tsviwpenta) and started to consolidate power by the early 1600s during the Tsevdan War.

Duke Pilosa Valkasa reigned over Ṡviupenta from 1596 to 1622 and gained a lot of influence and power from the Tsevdan War through his wit and military strategies. He earned major respect throughout the Velzen Empire and became the Lord of War for Emperor Tiskolits Sehva-Mikex until his own death in 1622.

Under the reign of Emperor Yešvã III, the Valkas Dynasty began to flourish and became the second most important house in the empire. With this, they threatened the power of the Emperor, but despite the tension, both continued in relative peace under him until closer to the end of his life. However, the tension eventually exploded into a succession crisis after the ascension of Èlusãr Dxitalix. Duke Cosètõv Valkas claimed that Èlusãr was an illegitimate child of Yeshva which had been rumored all his life, and that the real heir was his younger sister, Lenase who Cosètõv was to marry in a few months. House Valkas waged war against House Dxitalix and the conflict lasted about 4 and a half years until Cosètõv finally stormed Atswam and Èlusãr surrendered and transfered the title of Emperor of Velxenia to him. From then on, it was undisputed that Cosètõv was now the legitimate emperor and heh ad secured his dynasty's future as the new Emperors of Velxenia.

Under their reign, Velxenia saw a massive golden period until closer to the end when its power became threatened by the Oipientian Republic and the UHSR. However, while the Velxen economy was booming during the 1800s due to industrialization, it drastically increased the profit of the Slave Trade with it becoming one of the largest slave states in the world. This would later cause major issues for them during the 4th Hells War and the period right before as the economy almost completely collapsed because slavery was ended.
