Philippine-American War (feb 4, 1899 – jul 2, 1902)
Description:
The Philippine-American War was an armed conflict between the Philippines (which happened to be a colony of Spain) and the United States.
Emilia Aguinaldo declared Philippines independence two days before the U.S. senate ratified the Treaty of Paris, refusing to accept a change in colonial rule.
The war would end in an American decisive victory, leaving Philippines under U.S. rule until it was recognized independence in 1946.
