It "was more of a process than an event"The Market Revolution saw many Americans move away from self-sufficiency in independent farms to producing goods for others. Essentially it was the shift away from Jeffersonian ideals towards Hamilton's ideals of America. It was the beginning of the modern commercial industrial economy.
