His legacy would mark the end of the Gilded Age. He proposed the Square Deal which composed of three C's:
- Corporate Regulation
- Consumer Protection
- Conservation of Natural Resources
He was known as the trustbuster. He wanted to get rid of "bad" trusts and keep the "good" trusts. For example, he ordered his justice department to break up the Northern Securities Company, which became Northern Securties v. United States.
After his presidency, he entrusted William Howard Taft to continue his legacy.
