War of the Austrian Succession (jan 1, 1740 – jan 1, 1748)

Description:

Causes: The invasion of Silesia by Frederick II and the Prussians. This broke the provisions of the Pragmatic Sanction.

Participants: Austrian Habsburgs and English vs Prussians and French

Outcome: Treaty of Aix-la-Chapelle (1748); Prussia retained Silesia, and Spain renewed Britain's privilege to import slaves into Spanish colonies
