- Korea was divided between the 38th parallel after japan was defeated with its north occupied by Soviets and its south occupied by US- North Korea invaded South Korea in Jun 1950 and UN forces aided South Korea but was push back to the 38th parallel again by Chinese army
- President Esienhower ended the war
