Songhai Empire (jan 1, 1464 – jan 1, 1591)
Description:
The Songhai Empire was the largest and last of the three major pre-colonial empires to emerge in West Africa. It was located in west Sudan and was a culmination of west African beliefs and Islam. Eventually they collapsed due to Moroccan forces defeated them in the Battle of Tondibi causing their collapse.Added to timeline:
