Fur Trade (jan 1, 500 – jan 1, 1000)
Description:
The Fur Trade, primarily found in Russia at the time, was an exchange of animal furs. Due to the price of the fur (and the luxury associated with it), animal furs gained a new name, “soft gold.” The demand rose as the “Little Ice Age” began as well, causing the price to rise. This resource fueled the economy in the region.
