-tried to revive the economy by applying the theory of supply-side economics-believed if corporate taxes were reduced, those corporations would have greater profits
-those profits would be used to buy more equipment and hire more employees, which would create more jobs (voodoo economics)
-New Federalism: opposite of the federalists, goal was to shift power from the national gov't. to the states. Never accomplished
