First Moroccan Crisis (mar 1, 1905 – may 1, 1906)
Description:
Franco-German hostilities reach fever pitch as the German Empire attempts to challenge France for control of Morocco. This angers Britain, who is beginning to see Germany as its chief international opponent following the decline of Russia over the course of the 19th century. Eventually the conflict resolves peacefully with virtually all the European powers recognizing France's claim to a protectorate over Morocco, increasing German hostility to Britain and deepening Franco-British diplomatic relations.
