Description:
After the death of Andrew III., interegnum follows, some powerful nobles who had by that time achieved de facto independence of the monarch, strengthened their autonomy such as Máté Csák of Trencsén.
Charles and Louis introduced various reforms:
Charles I introduced a centralized power structure, the king did not hold Diets and administered his kingdom with absolute power
The king promoted opening of new gold mines, which made Hungary the largest producer of gold, “urbura”= low taxes for the mined gold
The first Hungarian gold coins – florins minted in Kremnitz
