The Second Great Awakening (jan 1, 1790 – jan 1, 1840)
Description:
As the second revival of Protestant values in America, the Second Great Awakening brought with it not only reform of religious views but also views on women and temperance. The movement preached salvation for all and especially had an impact on women and lesser members of the community. Most importantly, however, talk of the morality and abolishment of slavery started with the Second Great Awakening.
