Was a lawyer and helped Tenneessee become a state.
Known for his temper.
Election of 1828 against James Monroe. Very heated. Jackson wins popularly though.
Ran on the idea of the common man.
Believed that the president was where the voice of the people are at, and thus should have more power. In a way, he ignored the other branches. He supported slavery and started the Indian Removal Act.
Nullification Crisis where South Carolina was threatening to leave. Jackson threatened with troops.
Opponent of the National Bank.
His advisors other than the main cabinet was the Kitchen Cabinet
