Very dominated by foreign affairs
Pressure to support a war with Britain due to harrasment of trade. Ends up delcaring the war of 1812 and it becomes the main issue of his presidency.
Dolley Madison was the first lady and she begun to shape what it means to be a first lady. Organized white house events.
