Description:
- shifted the capital from Cochin to Goa in 1529- Bahadur Shah of Gujarat took the help of the Portuguese in conflict with Humayun by ceding him the island of Bassein in 1534; later he was killed on a ship
- Diu and Bassein came under control
- Da Cunha attempted to increase influence in Bengal by settling Portuguese nationals in Hooghly
