Containment Policy (mar 12, 1947 – dec 26, 1991)
Description:
Containment policy said that Communism needed to be contained to the countries where it existed and not be allowed to spread. It was closely linked to domino theory which stated that once one country became communist all neighboring countries would as well. This is what dragged the US into the wars in Vietnam and Korea, Communist factions were gaining power and started a Civil War and the US stepped in to try and stop them from taking over.
