The Kisan Genocide (feb 5, 1938 – apr 30, 1939)

Description:

Around 200,000 people were killed by starvation in the Kisan Islands. These people were specifically targeted by the Saurian Union after the December Pogase Riot of 1937. However, news later got out of the Saurian Union regarding children and women being targeted for starvation in the Kisan Islands when Chausaq Tisvieq was shot by a Kisan nationalist. This outbreak in the news caused international condemnation and set the stage for the Oipientian Invasion of the Kisan Islands to stop the genocide and return the Kisan Islands to Sadon. The starvation was labeled as a genocide by the Oipientian Senate in their Declaration of War against he Saurian Union and the term has been used ever since. This period of Saurian history is often referred to as a dark turning point in the international view of the U.H.S.R. and its domestic issues.
